G's Big Day

Griffin loved his birthday. It is safe to say that he ate the whole experience up as much as he possibly could, from the balloons in his bedroom brought by the birthday elves to the DS he had been begging for waiting for him at the breakfast table.

It's good to be four. (And we will never tell your brothers how you have secretly been using their DSs while they are away at school and you are home with me. Never.)

We spent most of the birthday at home, enjoying some family time. In the afternoon, Chris had to do a quick run to the office. At finding out that Chris was gone, Griffin looked at me aghast and said, "I don't think I told Daddy he could leave and it's my birthday so he can't!"

Yes, Griffin liked his birthday.

That evening, we had a few of Griffin's friends, family friends and family over for pizza, cake, monkey cupcakes and mayhem.

Griffin was a little embarrassed at the whole birthday singing and lighting of the candle. It was quite amazing to see our drama king actually hiding away from it all.

But he perked up in no time.
