There are alot of things I love about the boys' school. My list of love would be a mile long. But definitely on that list is the availability of a variety of sports for the boys to try. I never, in a million years, imagined Aidan would ever want to play volleyball. But when the school started offering boys JV volleyball for the fifth and sixth grade. He was in!
He loved it. He spent most of the games laughing with his buddies. It was a great way to try out a new sport with a group of school friends who were also new to volleyball. The team didn't set the world on fire, but Aidan quickly found his rhythm, particularly when serving. The serving motion is similar to tennis and this gave Aidan a little bit of a leg up. He had some games where he had close to 20 aces in a row. (His poor hand looked mighty red after that one.)
Even better, Chris and I are completely and totally clueless about the entire sport. It makes for some fun spectator time. I am never even sure when the games are actually over. But I am sure Aidan is having a ton of fun.
