Christmas Pageants 2013

The annual school Christmas pageant was a treat this year.  It was beautifully done by a new addition to the teaching staff at the boys' school and truly left not a dry eye in the house.  The school held it in the church, which truly contributed to the beauty of the occasion.

Aidan had a big role in the pageant, playing a lead in the middle school skit.  I was astounded to see my boy up on the altar reciting lines and acting his little heart out.  He never ceases to amaze me.  (And yes, I did cry through the whole thing.)

A few days after the whole school pageant, the annual first grade pageant was held in the school gym.  Griffin was thrilled to be a wise man in the play, rocking his tinsel crown.  Chris and I had a little moment watching our last boy stroll up the aisle to Mary and Joseph.  It was our third, and last, first grade pageant.  Our boys are growing up much, much too fast.

Brennan's Basketball Birthday Bash

After much intense negotiation regarding the big birthday party to celebrate Brennan turning nine, we decided on a basketball party.  (Because yes, it is easy and would guarantee a way to wear out all of the kids even in the middle of winter.)

It was a success.  A whole lot of basketball, a whole lot of running around and a whole lot of exhausted, but happy kids.  (Including our happy nine year old boy.)

Griffin Celebrates 7

Griffin rang in his seventh year with a Halloween themed celebration: costumes, ghost cupcakes, digging for gummy worms, and pizza logs.  (Okay, the pizza logs aren't really Halloween themed, but they are a kiddie favorite.)  The digging for gummy worms was a huge hit in our first grade crowd, but freeze dancing was a close second.  The kids had some serious moves.
